The University Area Neighborhoods Plan
The University of Alabama and the City of Tuscaloosa along with the residents of the neighborhoods surrounding the campus have process created a neighborhood plan that addresses the various issues that affect the various stakeholders. The City and the University shared the cost of contracting with the KPS Group who coordinated and developed the neighborhood plan. The plan was developed from a series of meetings held with the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods, students and members of the University and City administrative staffs.
The Neighborhood Partnership Committee continues to meet on a regular basis in order to keep the lines of communication open among students, UA, neighbors, realtors and landlords and to build on the cooperative effort that was established over the past year.
The next Neighborhood Partnership Committee meeting is scheduled for July 21, 2005 @ 12:00 noon at the Tuscaloosa City Council Chambers (2nd Floor, City Hall).
To confirm your attendance, call or email Bert Ragsdale (bert.ragsdale@ua.edu or 348-8376) by July 15. If you cannot attend this meeting, please forward the name(s) of your representative(s).
